Packing Services Brisbane That Make Moving Day Faster
Good packing is not about using more tape. It is about choosing the right carton, controlling weight, protecting fragile surfaces and labelling every box for the destination. A well-packed home is safer to carry, faster to load and easier to unpack.
Is this the right SwiftMove service?
SwiftMove can discuss packing support for a full home, selected rooms, fragile belongings or time-sensitive moves. The scope is confirmed before the job so materials, labour and the handover between packing and transport are clear.
Packing and unpacking around your move
SwiftMove can pack a full home or agreed rooms and fragile items, then help unpack at the destination. You can also ask us to put belongings away in cupboards and reassemble furniture as part of the agreed job. Tell us which tasks you want completed so we can allow time for them instead of treating unpacking as an automatic extra at the end of the day.
Packing materials used for your booking are included, including materials you keep. This applies across our moving bookings, not only full-packing jobs. The labour for packing, unpacking and putting items away is charged at the agreed hourly rate. We confirm the scope and schedule before booking.
What happens to the packaging afterwards
We can remove used packaging or rubbish by arrangement. This is charged separately for working time plus recycling or disposal costs, and it is not included in the online estimate. If you want the packaging taken away, mention it when requesting your quote.
Use cartons for a purpose
Book cartons should stay compact; general cartons suit lighter mixed contents; port-a-robes protect hanging clothing; picture cartons support flat fragile items. Heavy items belong in smaller boxes. Every carton should close flat without bulging and remain safe for one person to handle.
Label for the destination
Write the destination room and a useful contents summary on more than one side. Mark genuinely fragile cartons and keep hardware from dismantled furniture in labelled bags attached to the correct item or carried in one controlled parts box.
Keep a no-load group
Passports, jewellery, medication, keys, chargers, settlement documents and irreplaceable data stay with you. Gas bottles, flammables, aerosols and hazardous goods cannot be packed for the removal truck. Perishables and plants need separate planning, especially interstate.
Clear pricing before moving day
Local hourly bookings have a two-hour minimum, then 30-minute billing blocks, at a rate that depends on the truck and crew your move needs. Travel from the pickup address to the delivery address is part of the paid moving time, and one call-out fee covers dispatching the truck and crew. Your written confirmation sets out the rate, the call-out fee and the agreed scope together.
The agreed truck and crew, moving equipment and packing materials used for your booking are included, including materials you keep. Packing, unpacking and putting belongings away are extra work charged at the agreed hourly rate when they are part of the scope. Rubbish and used-packaging removal is a separate service with time and disposal charges.
Stairs, long carries and heavy items change the time a move needs, and stairs can also change the hourly rate, so send access photos before booking. Nearby local moves are often booked without a deposit; a deposit may be required for a distant pickup and is required for interstate moves, with any amount agreed before you commit. See how your move is priced for the full explanation.
Important belongings and transport limits
Keep passports, money, jewellery, medication, keys, settlement papers, irreplaceable data and other valuables with you. SwiftMove cannot load gas bottles, flammables, aerosols or hazardous goods. Tell us before booking about pianos, safes, slate tables, workshop equipment and any item over 100 kg so the job can be assessed safely.
Read the current Terms for liability, exclusions and claims conditions. Tell us about high-value or fragile belongings before booking so the handling requirements can be assessed.
Packing yourself instead
If you would rather pack some rooms yourself, read our packing rules and boxes and wrap guide before starting fragile rooms. For large home moves and apartment access, see the relevant service page, and how the moving estimate works for pricing.
Frequently asked questions
Can you pack only my kitchen or fragile items?
Yes. A partial scope can be more useful than a full-home pack. List the rooms and special items when requesting the quote.
Are packing materials included?
Yes. Materials used for your booking, including those you keep, are included. The time needed for packing or unpacking is charged at the agreed rate and must be part of the agreed scope.
Can you unpack at the new home?
Unpacking can be discussed as part of the scope. Define whether this means opening cartons onto clear surfaces, placing basic contents or removing used materials.
Are self-packed boxes covered for internal damage?
Cover for self-packed items depends on the circumstances and the current Terms. Discuss fragile or high-value belongings and packing requirements before booking.
