Two Movers and a Truck Brisbane — Sized for the Actual Move
Two movers and a truck is the standard shape of many Brisbane moves, but it is not the correct answer for every inventory or staircase. SwiftMove recommends the crew from volume, access, heavy items and the deadline.
When two movers and a truck suit the job
A two-person crew can suit apartments, small-to-medium homes and straightforward access. Larger whole-house loads, multiple flights of stairs, long carries or heavy pieces may finish more safely and efficiently with a third mover, and the largest jobs use several people and more than one truck from a fleet of four. Two movers is a service option, not the limit of what SwiftMove can send. The written quote explains the recommendation.
When two movers fit the job
Two movers are the starting point in the SwiftMove estimate for a few items and one-, two- and three-bedroom moves. Bedrooms are only a guide: a workshop, bulky outdoor furniture or a long carry can change the recommendation. Provide a room-by-room inventory and access photos so the quote reflects the load.
When a third mover is worth discussing
The current quote tool recommends three movers for four-bedroom-plus moves, and for a three-bedroom whole-house move with stairs and no lift. Tell us about pianos, safes and other unusually heavy items before selecting a crew. The final recommendation depends on safe handling and the actual access.
Compare total cost as well as the hourly rate
Ask each quote to state crew size, minimum booking, billing increments and the call-out fee. A lower hourly rate alone does not establish the total price. Packing readiness, waiting for keys and the distance from the truck to the door all affect the time required.
Clear pricing before moving day
Local hourly bookings have a two-hour minimum, then 30-minute billing blocks, at a rate that depends on the truck and crew your move needs. Travel from the pickup address to the delivery address is part of the paid moving time, and one call-out fee covers dispatching the truck and crew. Your written confirmation sets out the rate, the call-out fee and the agreed scope together.
The agreed truck and crew, moving equipment and packing materials used for your booking are included, including materials you keep. Packing, unpacking and putting belongings away are extra work charged at the agreed hourly rate when they are part of the scope. Rubbish and used-packaging removal is a separate service with time and disposal charges.
Stairs, long carries and heavy items change the time a move needs, and stairs can also change the hourly rate, so send access photos before booking. Nearby local moves are often booked without a deposit; a deposit may be required for a distant pickup and is required for interstate moves, with any amount agreed before you commit. Details that prevent avoidable delays
Provide the real inventory, stairs, lift rules, parking distance, heavy items and timing constraints. Have cartons closed and labelled, dismantling decisions agreed and the route clear. Keep valuables and essentials with you, and never pack gas bottles, flammables, aerosols or hazardous goods for the removal truck.
Important belongings and transport limits
Keep passports, money, jewellery, medication, keys, settlement papers, irreplaceable data and other valuables with you. SwiftMove cannot load gas bottles, flammables, aerosols or hazardous goods. Tell us before booking about pianos, safes, slate tables, workshop equipment and any item over 100 kg so the job can be assessed safely.
Read the current Terms for liability, exclusions and claims conditions. Tell us about high-value or fragile belongings before booking so the handling requirements can be assessed.
Frequently asked questions
Do you require a deposit?
Nearby local moves are often booked without one. A deposit may be required for a distant pickup and is required for interstate moves. Any amount is agreed before booking and credited towards your move.
What is included in my moving booking?
Your agreed truck, crew, moving equipment and packing materials are included. Packing materials are included across our bookings, including materials you keep. Full packing, unpacking, putting belongings away and furniture assembly must be included in the agreed scope; the working time is charged at the agreed rate. Rubbish and packaging removal is separate.
Can the estimate change?
Yes, if the scope, access, waiting time, volume or route differs from the information supplied. Accurate details and a written confirmation reduce that risk.
Do you always send two movers?
No. Two movers are common for local jobs, but the load, access and schedule can require a larger crew or multiple trucks. The team is selected for the booking rather than fixed by a bedroom count alone.
